Wood Fibre Panels
Wood Fibre Panels provide an ideal solution for both new developments and renovation projects
Find the right product by area of use
Nordic Fibreboard’s wood fibre panels combine a softboard core with a ready-finished surface for efficient wall and ceiling renovation in suitable dry interiors. ISOTEX Wall and ISOTEX Ceiling panels reduce on-site finishing while adding the warm surface feel and sound-dampening potential of porous fibreboard. Explore the panel type and finish, then check current installation and technical guidance.
Product value
Natural wood fibre panels not only align with the current trends but also offer unique benefits
ISOplaat woodfibre softboard is the ideal material for a wide range of uses in construction and industry purposes.
With their natural composition (100% woodfibres) and chemical free production process, they provide a high quality, environmentally responsible option for modern interior solutions and as packaging core material.
Made from natural woodfibres with no glues or binders added, they ensure a safer and healthier material option compared to commonly used timber based panels but also many fibre materials, such as rock or glass fibreboards.
Wood Fibre Panels for a quick and easy update on design
Interior panels that combine finish and function
Wood fibre panels offer a practical alternative when a project needs more than a decorative surface. The porous softboard core is lightweight, processable and capable of absorbing sound energy, while the factory-applied finish creates a completed visual layer. Together, these qualities make ISOTEX wood fibre panels relevant for renovation and interior projects where speed, cleanliness and room comfort matter.
ISOTEX Wall is designed for suitable interior wall applications. It can refresh an existing room without the full sequence of wet plastering, drying and painting associated with many traditional finishes. ISOTEX Ceiling follows the same principle for dry-room ceilings, including renovation situations where the existing surface is visually uneven but otherwise suitable for the approved installation method.
The current range includes defined surface patterns and colours. Product availability, batch consistency, repainting, cleaning and maintenance should be confirmed from the latest product and installation information before a finish is specified across a project.
Faster renovation with less on-site finishing
Pre-finished wood fibre panels can shorten the route from substrate preparation to a usable room. Their low weight supports handling, and the panel format creates a repeatable installation rhythm. The actual time and dust saving depends on the existing surface, cutting, edge details, room geometry and fixing method, so the substrate and set-out should be checked before work starts.
Panels are intended as interior finishes, not as a remedy for leaks, active mould, unstable substrates or major structural movement. Resolve moisture sources and repair the base first. Use ISOTEX Ceiling only in the dry interior conditions and applications covered by current guidance.
Acoustic and thermal comfort
ISOTEX panels have a porous wood fibre core that can absorb sound energy and soften harsh reflections, helping create a calmer room. The final acoustic result depends on the panel finish, coverage, mounting method, room geometry and the rest of the construction. The panels should not be described as soundproof unless a tested complete assembly supports the claim.
Compared with many hard mineral surfaces, wood fibre can also create a warmer surface feel. For declared thermal values, use the current product documentation; building energy performance must be assessed across the complete construction.
Choose the panel by room, surface and finish
Start with the room’s use, the surface to be covered and the desired finish. The substrate must be dry, stable, free from unresolved defects and suitable for the approved fixing method. Plan panel direction, joints, perimeter details, sockets, lighting and other services before installation.
Colours, textures and patterns can look different in real project lighting, so review a current physical sample before final approval. For commercial and public interiors, also confirm reaction-to-fire, indoor-emissions and maintenance requirements for the exact panel and application.
